About

Its a restful Friday afternoon your senior year of college. You're sitting on your bed; laptop resting on your lap and no plans for the rest of the day. You think about taking a trip to the mall but you're usually uninspired by the things it has to offer. The stuff you buy never seems to fit right anyway and don't go with anything else in your closet. You'll probably find yourself there next week, returning everything you just bought. You're sick of checking the new arrivals on Forever21 and WetSeal's pages and you want to take your mind of off how your zest for shopping never seems to fulfill your fashion sense or lack thereof. So you find some other way to occupy your internet time. Perhaps a game? Maybe a trip to your favorite gossip site? Then on the side panel of PerezHilton.com you see it: A beautiful vintage looking floral tea-length dress. You click on the ad and the vigorous browsing that ensues next is one to make a zealous online shopping expert blush. You're so elated by every garment you see, you tweet, email and facebook every link of every cute dress you see to your friends. Just then you spot a dress that is so uniquley you and when you can, in your mind's eye, see yourself in it, you suddenly realize the potential in you; the hunger to reach that potential and desire to leave behind a wardrobe you thought was so inspired but you now realize is juveline and reflective of a you you once knew but are ready to move on from...
the beginning of mine.
You may not know it but you're in the nascent stages of a dresscapade. Your new outlook on fashion is "me-centered". You ask yourself questions like What does my look of choice say about me? What do I want it to say about me? You're more open to trying new things, to learning new things. You want to wear your clothing, not the other way around. But all the while, a big question looms over your head: Where do I begin? Here! Why? Because I'm in the same boat. That senior sitting in her dorm room, avoiding the mall, shopping sites like WetSeal and Forever21... That was me not 2 years ago! And since, my dresscapade has taught me so many new things about myself. Its not just about building a new wardrobe but building the confidence to match it. Once you've taken the step to discovering the best you, you've taken the most important step. The rest is just part of the journey.

Welcome to dresscapades
